I purchased this book so that we had another copy at home. It is effective in covering the subject matter for 8th grade English language arts. The information is laid out well in the book and it is easy for my daughter to understand. Overall, I would suggest the book as a good reference book if it is not required for classroom work.
We use this book now for 8 and 9th grade and my teen has no problem understanding it. It is great resource to the middle schoolers! Even better if you have the teacher guide books!

We love these English books! My kids all use them for grammar,because they're very thorough and they explain things very well. I would definitely recommend these books to others.
The major problem with this text is that there are no answers for the questions presented in the textbook. When my child asks if their answer is right, since I am not an English master, I can't answer and there is nothing good about that! I could take an English class and refresh on the schooling I had over 20 years ago, but that seems ridiculous! If someone has the answer key, I would surely appreciate a pdf copy of that!
