Three hundred and twenty-five years after he was executed for the crime of sedition before he was declared to be a deity.According to everything I know about theology, which I admit is rather limited, tells me that when men make a god out of a person, the religion is one of idolatry. which is how Christianity started.This not a book that one will read from cover-to-cover easily. It is a well written but its scholarship is solid.
This is a must read. After reading this book you will start to research other books like the hindu bible and the book of the dead.
An easy to follow introduction to the historical development of myth into religion. Focus on similarities. Robert Graves, Joseph Cambell and D. M. Murdock also elaborate on this theme.
This book i found interesting at times but at other times it was repetative and rambling. Much of it was more commentary and some facts I found iffy. I still found it worth the read and it still made me think about how sure are we of some of our religious history?

The title promises a lot, but documentation is poor or lacking in important places. The presentation is rambling rather than direct. This is a book for the back burner - when you've finished reading your other new books. I find it hard to get into this book, but that may be my age and preference for larger print and spacing.
