I have read most of his academic books and most are excellent. This book, however seems aimed at a boarder audience. Unfortunately in doing so it is too short, too shallow and too simplified. Each area he covered should have been explored with more depth. The discussion questions were helpful.
A good concise history of the Lord's Supper. N.T. Wright does well to show in a creative and clear way the meaning, message and methods of the celebration of Communion. A good book to give someone curious about this Supper that so marks out the Christian church throughout the ages.
N.T. Wright lays a solid foundation for understanding, leading,and participating in this essential act of worship. It is short but complete, readable but also profound. It would be an excellent resource for new pastors and new members of any church.
N.T.Wright is one of the best christian writers. This is a good analysis of the communion or eucharist and its meaning in christian life. I don't agree with everything he says but I do like his writing & analysis. RAG
A wonderful resource for new and seasoned believers alike. Wright, in his down to earth style, builds bridges with various denominations as he describes the Jesus Meal in an accessible and open manner. A must read!
N.T. Wright gives us his take on what communion means and why it is a sacrament of the Church.
I liked that NT Wright kept his teaching simple and too the point. May this understanding of the Sacrament lead to peace!
I gave it 4 stars only because I wanted more. Felt like the author had more to say but ended it abruptly. I guess it left you wanting more.
